Mobile Blue Zone – 3 Months Later

February 26, 2009

Almost 3 months has passed since we launched our very simple but really cool freeware Mobile Blue Zone. If you haven’t heard about it, Mobile Blue Zone is a mobile application that improves the parking experience in the center of the city of Sofia, Bulgaria. The application simply resolves the issues with missing the reserved parking time slot and avoids the subsequent parking fines. You can read the whole story about the product here. Its design and development are powered by some MobiSDP components and extends the list with successfully implemented solutions on top of the MobiSDP platform.

It is amazing how useful Mobile Blue Zone proves to be even though it is presently supported only on S60 Nokia based handsets. However, Bianor’s R&D team is eager to extend it to be running on other business platforms like Blackberry and Windows Mobile – it is just a matter of time.

GSMA Most Innovative Mobile Application Award

September 30, 2008

I am very pleased to share that our customer WorldMate (formerly named MobiMate) is among the winners in the virtual tournament of the prestigious 2009 Mobile Innovation Global Competition.

The application WorldMate Live won the award for Most Innovative Mobile Application in a Vertical Market. This award proves once again that MobiMate creates some of the Globe’s most innovative mobile applications with a great value for the users. The award is both a high evaluation for MobiMate’s application and for Bianor’s team who developed a significant part of it.

Here you can find a short case study about the project.

The Mobile Innovation Global Award Competition was created by the GSM Association (GSMA) as part of the Mobile Innovation Market, which encourages breakthrough technology, applications and services in the mobile industry by bringing together smaller companies developing innovative mobile products, industry investors from leading venture capital firms, and senior figures from mobile operators and leading global brands.

The GSM Association (GSMA) is a global trade association representing more than 750 GSM mobile phone operators across 218 territories and countries of the world founded in 1987. In addition, more than 180 manufacturers and suppliers support the Association’s initiatives as associate members. The primary goals of the GSMA are to ensure mobile phones and wireless services work globally and are easily accessible, enhancing their value to individual customers and national economies, while creating new business opportunities for operators and their suppliers. The Association’s members represent more than 3 billion GSM and 3GSM connections – over 86% of the world’s mobile phone connections.
