Speed is King… Kindle for iPad

It’s amazing how quickly Amazon developed Kindle for iPad. The mobile app was approved by Apple yesterday (with the official iPad launch) and now it’s on sale in iTunes.
Two months delay and Amazon would have faced completely different situation as many users would have already moved from Kindle to iBooks… And of course such move would have had great long-term impact on Amazon’s business.
Many times the future of companies (even big ones) lies in the hands (and heads) of several engineers… Delay a project two months and maybe you kill a start-up with otherwise sound business concept, or create a fearsome rival.
