Introduction to the Connected Home

What is a connected home
The term ‘connected home’ has been around for quite some time but what does it actually mean? It draws roots from the more familiar home automation idea. The connected home knows where you are, what you are doing and is able to predict what you need. Imagine interactive lighting control with lights following you and switching off behind you.
Imagine intelligent thermostat control with an energy-saving aspect, maintaining just the temperature you want in every room, and cooling the entire house when empty. Imagine your bathroom sending vital information about your health to your GP. Imagine your fridge adding milk to your electronic shopping list. Imagine your favourite music and entertainment programs playing at preferred times in preferred rooms.
Sharing Android Video with Internet-enabled TV and Xbox 360
Want to watch your Android photos and videos with the comfort of your big flat TV screen and its remote control? Not interested in running cables across the room or spending hours in setting up PC software? You are at the right place
We’ve just released iMediaShare Premium for Android which makes all this possible. We’ve tested it extensively and I’m happy to report video works great (including positioning) with Samsung Series 6 DLNA TVs and Xbox 360. PS3 unfortunately doesn’t play the video captured with the Android camera, but photos and audio still work great!
You could download iMediaShare Premium for Android from the Android Market, or visit iMediaShare website for more information.
Would love to hear your feedback and future feature requests. We are here to make the latter come true
Mobile Multimedia on Google TV – When, Not Whether
Well, Google did it again – they shook the world! – this time the TV industry. Yesterday at their annual conference Google I/O, they announced their TV platform – Google TV. According to them, “video should be consumed on the biggest, best, and brightest screen in your house, and that’s the TV.” And it is not only video. The idea is to merge the web and TV without compromising on either the web experience or the video experience, with a focus on discovery and personalization.
Integrating Android within the Home Entertainment Context
Yesterday we launched iMediaShare at Android Marketplace. Now we can all easily play phone-stored multimedia at our internet-enabled TV sets, or copy our phone photo albums to PS3.
No computers, no cables, no hassle…
P.S. I recommend Stefan deletes some of the “Las Vegas photos” before accidentally sharing them with the family back home
