BACKGROUND
Reliable, real-time information is crucial for the fast reaction and adequate management of business nowadays. It is even more critical when you have to manage a large vehicle fleet. Knowing exactly where your vehicles, drivers and cargo are located is in many cases a prerequisite for running a successful business. The precise and up-to-date information helps logistics companies better utilize their fleets to significantly optimize costs and improve performance.

GPS Bulgaria, a subsidiary of M-Tel (a company of Telecom Austria Group), has been running for more than a decade a telematics platform, providing location based services with enabled remote monitoring and control of various vehicle parameters. The constant strive for better customer service as well as the increasing market demands were the reason GPS Bulgaria was willing to expand the portfolio of services provided to their customers.

CHALLENGE
Bianor had to upgrade the existing fleet management platform to increase its capacity and launch new value-added services. The company reworked significant part of the existing system developing a network-based telematics platform that provides next generation location based services.

Bianor’s team had to apply their expertise in various telecommunication technologies, service delivery standards, and geographic information system (GIS) solutions in order to develop the SaaS platform for the leading Bulgarian mobile operator.

SOLUTION
Bianor’s engineering experience resulted in a network-based telematics platform that allows the service provider to offer advanced location-based capabilities and superior user experience.

The system currently processes over 2,000 requests per minute and manages in real-time tens of thousands of remote objects.

The flexible architecture of the platform allows for rapid configuration and generation of advanced custom reports.
