BACKGROUND

The busy schedule of a business trip should be precisely managed and easily updated.

Managing your trip is a tough task especially when you are on the move and the different parameters are constantly changing – flight delays, postponed meetings, just to name a few.

For example, any time you need some travel adjustment you call your office assistant, who calls your travel agent and by the time you have all done you already missed your flight. And this is just a brief idea of what might go wrong during a trip.

What if your assistant and your travel agent were next to you? Or even better – in your pocket, carrying them with you all around?!

CHALLENGE
Easy access on user’s mobile phone screen.

Looking for the answer of the question above, in 2007, based on the already successfully running mobile application, WorldMate developed the concept for integration of all travelers information with Outlook calendar, bringing the complete trip itinerary on the screen of the mobile phone.

The challenge WorldMate faced was combining in a single source all business travel itinerary including real-time flight, hotel, car rental and meeting information - creating a complete schedule available for easy access on user’s mobile phone screen.

SOLUTION

Bianor’s team had to build a custom mobile application that pieces together user travel itinerary details. The itinerary includes all travel bookings - flights, hotels, car rentals, etc.- wherever a traveler booked them, as well as all of the meetings’ schedule.

In addition, the solution had to offer the ability to import travel-related information into the WorldMate Live application, directly from the booking confirmation e-mails. All items are presented in the destination time-zone, and are clickable for additional information like confirmation numbers, phone numbers, terminals, gates, etc.

Best of all – it’s up-to-date, and any change made is reflected on the mobile device as well as personal web portal, so the user has always the most up-to-date itinerary in the pocket.

Using WorldMate Live a traveler can view the entire trip on a map and easily navigate to the hotel, meeting or airport just with a click.
